OPEN RECORDS REQUEST

Wednesday 2 April 2003

City Clerk
City Hall, City of San Antonio
100 South Flores @ Commerce Street
San Antonio, Texas 78205

Dear City Clerk,

There are photographs and rumors that (tax-payer-funded) city vans and city van drivers are being used to shuttle little old ladies and/or others to the polling sites to have the passengers vote in attempts to fix the outcome of the city election(s).

Correspondingly:

  1. How many passenger vans does the City of San Antonio own?
  2. What is the office address and what are the names of the van drivers?
  3. How many passenger vans are labeled as "COMMUNITY INITIATIVES" vans?
  4. Are any vans scheduled for the dates of Early Voting and/or Election Day to shuttle passengers to and/or near to polling places?
  5. What is the average purchase price of the vans?
  6. What is the average annual salary and/or pay for the van drivers?
  7. Have passengers been or will they be shuttled to polling cites in any city (or contracted) vans?

Pursuant to Texas Open Records statutory code; please respond within 10 days.

Respectfully,

Michael Idrogo, Public Servant, State of Texas
candidate, District 11 At Large (Mayor), City of San Antonio
